2 Expertise in decks Has built 1000’s of custom decks Has built a hundred standard decks. Has perhaps built a couple or uses unskilled subcontractors. Is “handy” but not that handy.
3 Knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, permits & utility location Proficient in all aspects of building you a legal code complient deck & licenced. Has general know-how for most laws, but not licensed in most cities. No clue about zoning or building codes & doesn’t know he is even supposed to be licensed
